Why we built this
OxeraVPN started in 2024 out of frustration. The big names everyone recommends — ExpressVPN, NordVPN, Surfshark — are brilliant products outside China, but inside the GFW they spend more time disconnected than connected. The China-specialist alternatives are expensive, closed about how they actually work, or both.
So we built what we wished existed: a straightforward service using the same protocol stack technical Chinese users have been relying on for years (VLESS + Reality over Xray), wrapped in an app non-technical users can actually use, priced so a student in Shanghai can afford it.
We test every release from inside mainland China across China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile. When the GFW tightens — and it tightens constantly — we push updates the same week.
